SO, it seems like almost every day I read a
story about more elephants and/or rhinos being massacred for their ivory
tusks...and it really devastates me to hear this...that these poachers are
slaughtering these beautiful animals created by God only to saw off their tusks and sell them for
superstitious reasons for thousands of dollars, and the beautiful animals are
left to die, sometimes pregnant. And so I will be updating this blog
periodically to try to encourage people to be aware of this atrocity and also offer
some ideas about what we can do to try to prevent it. Most of us can't go to
Africa and patrol the vast safaris to try to prevent these massacres but at
least we can help educate others about it, and especially try to educate those who are
willing to buy the tusks thinking it is a super
form of "hangover cure" or whatever other outlandish claim is made
for its usage and consumption.
I'm not an expert on this topic...just a
person of conscience who is playing a small part in the big picture, as you can too. Either pass on
this blog or others about the topic, or start your own...do a bit of
reading...and keep posting...the more the merrier...and
